Weekend Shop Rides: Every Saturday Morning- weather permitting- at 8AM

Kick off your weekend every Saturday for a morning spin. Rides are typically 1.5-2 hours, regroup at major intersections and are open to all experience levels.

Rides will vary each week, leaving from the shop at 8am Saturday mornings (weather permitting).

Stay tuned to our site’s home page and our Facebook page for details. Check back for weekly updates on our homepage as well. Routes and GPS files are posted early Friday. Rain cancels, sprinkles/showers do not.

The Saturday rides will roll out in groups of 14-16 for safety’s sake. We usually try to use the traffic light as a way to create space between each group.

We have two routes each week for folks to enjoy:

The shorter loop is a “no rider left behind” casual/novice group. This group rides routes ranging from 22 to 26 miles while averaging about 15-16 mph on flat road (will adjust to keep folks together). This is a fun, welcoming group if you are thinking about trying group riding. Come check it out!

The typical groups that ride the longer route are as follows (all of them fun!):

Group 1: Fast (25+ mph on flat road; 20-21 overall ride avg.). Typically a “drop” group (albeit a very friendly drop group), but if you fall off, don’t worry because coming along shortly will be…

Group 2: Quick (20-24mph on flat road; 18-19 overall ride avg.). Solid group. If any splits occur, this pack typically regroups to keep all folks together.

If at any time you find yourself off the back of group 2, just wait because there is always…

Group 3: Usually stays together. This group still tends to average about 18 – 20 mph on flat roads, but does its best to regroup if any gaps open.

There is often a subgroup of group 3 that will ride 17-18 mph. There is a group for (nearly) everyone!

Remember, whichever group you’re in (but especially in the last group), communicate a lot. If someone is getting gapped, let other riders know so no one gets left alone.

As the ride gets bigger in the summer, there are typically “1A and 1B, 2A/2B” etc. groups. Ride speeds are about the same, but to keep our group sizes manageable on the road we break them up.
