We’ve been fans of e-bikes since the beginning. As one of
the first bike shops in the state to embrace them back in the day, we not only
walk the walk but can also talk the talk.
Whether it’s a cruiser for the bike path, hybrid for commuting, mountain bike for the trail or road bike for the tarmac, we stock a wide range of pedelec models from Specialized and Cannondale with one that is certain to fit your needs…
We have many of the above models in stock and test rides are
available by appointment (please note we have to make sure they’re sufficiently
charged prior to riding).
Our employees personally own and ride many of the models we sell and we see that as the truest testament to these bicycles. Remember, it’s not cheating…it’s just another way to enjoy our favorite sport!

Due to health concerns surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic all shop rides have been cancelled until further notice. This includes the Saturday Shop Ride, Tuesday Ladies Ride, Thursday Hour of Power and all other rides sanctioned by the shop.
We hope this will be only a minor setback to our 2020 season of group rides. Any updates or changes to this policy will be posted here and on the Stedman’s Bike Shop Facebook Page.
Welcome to the Tuesday Women’s Rides!
When: Spring and Summer Tuesdays. Road ride starting at 5:30 pm
Where: Stedman’s Bike Shop, Wakefield Who: Ladies with bikes and helmets.
The Stedman’s Women’s ride was started in 2012 with a small group of South County cyclists, and has in the last six years grown to a large group of women who gather weekly. We want to help women find a fun and welcoming community to ride with and help develop their riding abilities.
The Tuesday night ride is a road ride that starts at 5:30 from Stedman’s shop and heads out towards the Kingston Train Station, which is mile 6. From here, we split into 3 groups based on speed and distance. Three groups with cruising speeds (not average speed!) of 14-16 mph, 16-18 mph, and 18+ mph on flat roads will cover between 20-35 miles depending on the week and group. Our goals include improving riding skills within a group, overall confidence on the bike, specific skills such as handling, drafting, and cornering. We also aim to create a happy and fun ladies cycling community! We require a well-maintained road bike and a helmet and ask that you are comfortable maintaining 15 mph on a flat road when riding alone.
How to get involved:
Each week’s routes will be posted here and on Facebook by Monday.
In March 2020, Rhode Island ordered the closure of all non-critical retail businesses until further notice due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
While these restrictions have been somewhat lifted, they are continuing to change the way Stedman’s conducts day-to-day business, most specifically by closing our showroom to in-person retail traffic. Due to this, no customers will be allowed inside the store until further notice.
Our hours of operation will continue to be as follows:
All sales and service are now conducted via curbside transactions. Please call during our normal business hours with questions and/or to place an order.
We are also taking steps to adapt our repair & service operations
during this time. Below are a few examples:
Sales of bicycles, equipment, apparel and other goods will continue to occur through the windows facing Woodruff Avenue.
Curbside drop off and pick up of bicycles in need of repair will be available through our service window (on the shop’s sidewalk facing Woodruff Ave) and Service AppointmentBookings are still available
Payments by phone for both sales and service are encouraged and can be done by calling 401.789.8664
Stedvan local pickup and delivery fees will be waived during this time, meaning we will come to your house, pick up your bike and deliver it back once service has been completed- please call for details
Thank you for your understanding and support
during this time. For further information we can be reached at 401.789.8664 and
